Tasks
According to § 25a of the Constitution of the FSU
The Academic Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences assumes the tasks of an Academic Council|Board of the Medical Faculty in accordance with § 25a of the Constitution of Friedrich Schiller University. It meets at least once per semester and supports the Dean for Student Affairs in the fulfilment of the tasks provided for in Section 24 of the Constitution of Friedrich Schiller University in study and examination matters.
Pursuant to Par. 41 Para. 2 of the ThüHG
The Study Commissions support and advise the Dean in the fulfilment of his/her tasks. They must be consulted before decisions|ruling|judgements are made by the self-governing body in accordance with Section 40 in all matters relating to teaching, studies and examinations. The study commissions have a right of initiative in the body|committees below the central level. Insofar as the self-governing units are not responsible for study and examination matters in accordance with the Constitution, the Study Committees must be consulted before the Senate passes resolutions on Examination Regulations and Study Regulations in accordance with Section 35 (1) No. 1; they have a right of initiative in this regard in the body|committees at central level.
Ensuring the quality of teaching
In addition to the Evaluation Regulations (Evaluation Standards and Instruments for Quality Development in the Subject Area of Studies and Teaching at Friedrich Schiller University Jena), the Committee for Academic Affairs prepared regulations to ensure the quality of teaching, which were adopted by the Faculty council|Board of the Medical Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences on 3 July 2013:
