Members of the Faculty Council have the right to submit proposals and be heard during meetings. To guarantee adequate preparation time, all complete proposals should be submitted to the Dean’s Office at least two weeks before the meeting. This allows them to be reviewed and shared with all members in good time.
Interested parties who wish to attend the public part of the meeting should register by e-mail at least two days before the meeting.

Tasks | Responsibility

The Faculty council advises and decides on matters of fundamental importance to the Faculty, unless otherwise stipulated by the ThürHG or the University Constitution (see § 25 of the University Constitutionpdf, 445 kb · de).

All issues of fundamental importance to the Faculty, for example with regard to the organisation

  • Organising and reviewing research, teaching, and administration
  • Proposing, modifying, or discontinuing degree programmes
  • Deciding on study, examination, and doctoral regulations
  • Supporting the training of early career researchers
  • Coordinating research projects and defining main research areas
  • Setting principles for the use and allocation of personnel and material resources
  • Deciding on the establishment of academic and structural units
  • Overseeing doctoral and habilitation procedures
  • Granting "venia legendi" (teaching qualification) to habilitation candidates
