CATI Facility

What is the CATI facility? What does it offer?

Since summer 2004, the Institute of Sociology has been running a CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) facility, where computer-assisted telephone interviews can be conducted. Many of the projects carried out at the Institute of Sociology make use of this facility, but its services are also available to external users.

  • Nationwide telephone surveys conducted by professional interviewers
  • Questionnaire programming
  • Expert advice and supervision during interviews

  • Use and provision of equipment for research and teaching at Friedrich Schiller University Jena
  • Preparation of cost estimates
  • Technical and organisational support for conducting telephone surveys
  • Sampling and assistance in designing sampling plans
