Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts|BA

The ABO Psychology module consists of 2 parts: Fundamentals (G) = 60-minute invigilated examination and Application (A) = portfolio report (written paper) in the case study seminar. For the written examination part, you will be given 3 questions from which you must select and answer 2 each.

Basics - Part G

The G part of the examination mainly refers to the basics of work and organisational psychology.

Literature relevant to the exam for part G (lectures on work and organisational psychology) are:

  • Nerdinger, F., Blickle, G. & Schaper, N. (2019). Work and organisational psychology. Heidelberg: Springer Medicine. 3rd edition
  • Lecture slides and transcripts

Master Psychology (major subject)

Modules MV203; MV205 / MPSYABO3b, d; MPSYABO4b, d; MPSYPMV205P (see the corresponding module plans)

Only one examination is taken in each module, which counts towards the overall module.
In the other seminar, students must "pass" through active participation.

The examination is either oral or written; this is determined jointly in the seminar.
In the project seminar, the examination is usually the project report. This can also be written jointly.

The written examination consists of two parts. 50% of the (invigilated) written examination|exam relates to the seminar attended, 50% to the basics of ABO.

Literature relevant to the examination

  • Lecture slides B. Sc.
  • Nerdinger, F., Blickle, G. & Schaper, N. (2011). Work and organisational psychology. Heidelberg: Springer Medicine. 2nd edition

Oral examination

Oral examination topic: a self-selected journal article with empirical evidence from a scientific journal (e.g. Journal of Applied Psychology, Zeitschrift für A und O) - not Psychology heute or GEO etc.

Second half: Subsequently, the entire field of ABO.

Master of Educational Science (minor subject Psychology)

Here, both lectures must be attended and the written B.Sc. examination|exam in the basic part must be passed for 6 CP.

Psychology minor (in the Master's programme and all other subjects)

For 9 or 10 credit points, you attend both lectures and choose a Bachelor's or Master's seminar from the ABO Psychology tender. As the Bachelor's seminar is regularly overcrowded, we advise you to choose a Master's seminar. The project seminar can also be chosen.

For more credit points (e.g. 15 for the WiWis), attend further Master's seminars from module MV203 (3 ECTS credits each) or MV205 (6 ECTS credits). These can also be proven|to register for|to take sth.|to enrol for from other modules upon full proposal to Prof. Trimpop if they fit thematically with ABO Psychology.

Whatever you have proven|to register for|to take sth.|to enrol for sth. in a 30-minute oral examination.
