MUN

What is MUN?

„…by coming together and assuming the positions of different Member States, by walking in their shoes, you will gain insights and come to understand a diversity of points of view.”

                                                                                                                                                                                              – Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General

In simulations of international committees, students act as diplomats from other nations. This format offers a unique opportunity to deal intensively with international politics and to learn proactively what kind of dynamics arise within the decision-making process in international organizations. Through role play and intensive preparation, participants study the interests, positions, and unique perspectives of other countries and cultures. They learn about the ways in which states interact with each other and the international community on a wide range of topics. Depending on their committees, delegates develop ideas for global environmental policies, debate the future of NATO or, as a member of the UN Security Council, discuss the pros and cons of humanitarian intervention in the Syrian conflict. These MUN simulations are a great experience for every student who is interested in international organizations and global decision-making processes.
